Happy feet

Tap is an essential skill for all dance students and a staple of musical theatre. Characterised by the percussive sound of metal-tipped shoes hitting the floor, tap dancing a whole lot of fun to learn and perform.

Based in Winslow, Buckinghamshire, these classes teach different styles of tap dance, helping them to develop a sense of musicality, teaching them how to use the body as a percussive instrument, and imparting a good understanding of rhythm, accents and syncopation. A range of classes teach students from the age of five all the way through to adults.

We train students to take examinations graded by the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), which aid their development into very accomplished commercial tap dancers. Many of the top tap dancers currently working in London’s West End will have been through the ISTD tap syllabus.

Our tap-dancing classes are held at Peploe-Williams Academy in Buckinghamshire, and conveniently situated for those living in Winslow, Milton Keynes, Aylesbury, Brackley and Bicester.
