Scarlet Baxter- Musical Magic: A Journey from Singing Around the House to Teaching Young Stars!

Scarlett Baxter singing teacher at PWA

Hey there, young superstars! 🌟

Today, I want to share a little bit about my journey and how I found my love for singing and performing, and eventually became a singing teacher here at PWA

Once upon a time, when I was just a little one like you, I couldn’t stop singing and dancing around my house! 🎀 My parents thought I might become an entertainer one day because I even knew all the words to the Abba Gold album when I was just 3 years old!

My love for performing started early. I got my first CD player and made my own radio shows with cool jingles. I’d put on theatre shows for my friends and family, and I was obsessed with a musical called Starlight Express. I’d pretend to be on roller skates and act out the entire show in my conservatory. It was so much fun!

Performing has always been my way of expressing myself and finding release. Music has been like magic in my life, shaping my mood and motivating me. When I was 9 years old, I joined a performing arts school called PWA, where I could explore performing even more. This boosted my confidence and played a big part in making me who I am today.

Musical Theatre can be a bit challenging, but it’s a skill you get better at with practice. I spent 7 years at PWA, learning and growing. With the help of my wonderful teacher Emma, I focused on Musical Theatre full-time and auditioned for a special school called Tring Park. That dedication led me to Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, where I earned a degree in Musical Theatre.

Now, here’s a little secret: Discipline is like a magic wand for performers. Starting to be disciplined early on helps you learn a lot and have a longer and more exciting career. So, always try to be better and push your limits!

As for singing, that’s my absolute favourite. Learning to sing when you’re young helps you discover your voice and learn cool techniques to keep your vocal cords happy. It’s not like buying a musical instrument; you have to grow and take care of your singing voice. Starting this journey when you’re young is super important to become a singing superstar!

I’m so excited to be your singing teacher now! I get to share all the cool things I’ve learned over the years with young talents like you. It’s a fantastic experience, and I can’t wait to see you become exceptional performers too! 🎢✨
